There is a moment, usually around 6 o’clock on a summer evening in Hvar, when the light does something extraordinary. The sun drops toward the Adriatic, the white stone of the old town fills with gold, and everything, the lavender, the sailboats, the ancient walls - seems to hold its breath. I have been photographing weddings here for years.
And that moment never gets old.
My name is Barbara Jerkovic Golob, and I’m a Hvar wedding photographer based in Hvar Town. Through Reborn Weddings, I work with couples around the world who choose this island as the setting for one of the most important days of their lives. My approach is cinematic and editorial but still rooted in emotion, guided by light, and dedicated to creating images that count as a heirloom.

I know the hidden hillside above Hvar Town where the harbour stretches out perfectly behind you. I know the quiet cove on the Pakleni Islands that turns gold twenty minutes before sunset. I know the exact angle at Beach Club Hvar where the colonnades frame a couple beautifully without the crowd. These are not locations you find on a list. My Approach to Hvar Wedding Photography
I believe that the best wedding photographs happen when you forget the camera is there. My role on your day is to be present, calm, watchful, and always in the right place at the right time, without being intrusive. I blend into the day so that what I capture is real. I work primarily with natural light — the gold of the Adriatic afternoon, the soft shadow of a stone archway, the warm glow of a candlelit reception. Light is not just a technical consideration for me, it is the mood of the image. I combine that sensitivity to natural light with deliberate, creative composition — considered framing, layered depth, and an eye for the detail that makes each image feel crafted rather than captured. I understand the unique challenges of planning a wedding from abroad and I work to make the entire process feel easy, guided and personal. I offer video consultations and consistent communication so that by the time your wedding day arrives, you feel completely at ease. And because I’m local, I can also connect you with Hvar’s most trusted vendors - planners, florists, hair and makeup artists who I know personally and work with regularly.
Engagement & pre-wedding sessions
An engagement session is one of the best investments you can make before your wedding day. It gives us the chance to work together in a relaxed setting — no schedule, no guests, no pressure — so that by the time your wedding arrives, you are completely comfortable in front of my camera. I offer engagement and pre-wedding sessions on Hvar and across Croatia. Many of my destination couples choose to arrive a day early and use the session as a way to explore the island together while creating beautiful portraits in the process. Sessions typically last 60 to 90 minutes and can be tailored to your preferred locations — whether that is the old town, the lavender fields, a private villa, or the open sea.If you would like to add an engagement session to your booking, mention it in your enquiry and we will plan it together.

We felt like she was genuinely interested in us and our wedding, and making it the best day possible for us, which is quite something: she must do dozens of weddings a year, but still made us feel special.
I honestly can't count how many guests commented on how fantastic Barbara was - so many people complimented her sweet nature, and the way she made everything feel easy, fun, and seamless. Being taken away from the party for photographs didn't feel like a chore, it felt like we were getting away for a special treat. I'm usually a bit camera-shy and don't love posing, but Barbara made me feel comfortable and happy at every point. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing with the poses, and which backdrop to choose at which moment.
We received our sneak peek - containing 50 photographs - already the day after our wedding, and we can't believe how beautiful the results are. The photographs are gorgeous, elegant, and elevated, but most importantly, they really feel like "us" - they are genuine, full of life, and really reflect our personalities. Absolutely no stiff, awkward, or unnatural poses, and no over-the-top editing: Barbara truly captured the best sides of us and our friends and family in a way that is 100% true to us.
